    Job Description:
    As a Senior Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for leading assigned accounting functions and General Ledger and Subledger

    maintenance.


    This includes Treasury Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, month-end procedures and compliance with all federal, state, and local accounting regulations.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    Maintain and records daily business transactions in the General Ledger

    Leads daily accounting operations efficiently and ensures deadlines are met

    Develop and implement procedures and systems to improve accounting processes

    Perform various analysis and reconciliations as required by the Controller, Treasurer, and other leaders as needed

    Assist the Treasurer with various treasury accounting, including but not limited to debt balance reconciliation and interest expense recalculation and reconciliation for various debt products including interest rate swaps

    Analyze and explain transactions with internal and external stakeholders

    Oversee month-end procedures to ensure an accurate and timely close

    Manages all Accounts Payable and Receivables functions and ensures accurate and timely payments and collections

    Prepare wire transfer, check and ACH payment requests

    Records the fixed asset additions and disposals, while maintaining the fixed asset sub-ledger

    Assist with external and internal audits

    Adoption of new accounting policies (US GAAP and IFRS) and ensure compliance with procedures and regulations

    Coordinates workflow and procedures between finance and other departments

    Understands cost accounting and the allocations required for monthly Cost Share

    Assist in the creation and enforcement of standard operating procedures for accounting policies and procedures

    Develop, mentor, and influence performance of accounting team members

    Build and foster relationships with other business units

    Other duties as assigned


    Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

    Education & Experience:
    Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field

    4+ years' experience in Full Cycle Accounting or similar role

    At least 2 years of supervisory experience or relevant experience in managing people and deadlines

    CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred

    ERP system experience, SAP is preferred

    Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office

    Prior experience with internal control and SOX compliance preferred

    Computer Skills:
    Must be able to demonstrate computer proficiency, especially within Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point, as well as PC based programs

    Familiarity with SAP accounting software is preferred
