    NYSERDA
    NYSERDA Albany, United States

    Default job background
    Description

New York is leading the nation in the fight on global climate change and the transition to a clean energy-powered economy.

The Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (Climate Act) has created the most aggressive climate change goals in the nation and requires an ambitious agenda that blends proven catalysts with innovative approaches while operating across a broader energy arena that is rapidly evolving.

New York State Energy Research & Development Authority (NYSERDA) is a driving force in realizing this agenda.

NYSERDA works with stakeholders that span residents, business owners, developers, community leaders, local government officials, universities, utilities, investors, entrepreneurs, and more, to develop, invest, and foster conditions that:

Attract the private sector capital investment needed to expand New York's clean energy economy.
Overcome barriers to using clean energy at a large-scale in New York.
Enable New York's communities and residents to benefit equitably from energy efficiency and renewable energy.

    Job Overview

The Assistant Project Manager will join NYSERDA's Clean and Resilient Buildings group as part of the Advanced Efficiency Solutions team.

The Advanced Efficiency Solutions team works across building sectors to develop and deploy purposeful demonstration projects that prove out repeatable approaches to decarbonize NYS buildings.

    Primary Responsibilities

    Project Management

Manage multiple projects through their entire lifecycle, from proposal and contracting, through technical assistance, implementation, and project close out.

Develop and manage solid working relationships with program stakeholders including real estate, engineering, and vendor partners. Increase coordination to accelerate investment in decarbonization.

Review, evaluate, and constructively criticize or approve program deliverables, including contract scopes of work with budget and milestone schedules, installation and commissioning reports, and various technical documentation.

Ensure good program compliance for submitted projects, deliverables, and participants.

Provide assertive project management, including resolving issues to drive the contracting process forward and proactively communicating with program participants on upcoming project deadlines and events, as well as overdue or insufficient documentation.

Respond to requests for information regarding general program or technology areas, eligibility questions, and participation requirements. Work with internal program team to resolve questions and maintain consistent messaging.
Manage technical and cost-control aspects of multiple on-going projects with minimal supervision.
Demonstrate good judgment and understanding of when to escalate issues. Keep program team abreast of project progress and issues as they arise.

    Program strategy and Market Engagement

Work with program team to develop strategies for driving clean energy investments and design/execute programmatic efforts to support these strategies, and support the dissemination of lessons learned in real time to the market.

Cultivate and strengthen strategic relationships with key stakeholders in the building retrofit industry and NYC real estate community.

Represent NYSERDA at meetings and events with external stakeholders, including in public forums and speaking engagements; present information on NYSERDA's behalf at professional meetings, conferences and workshops.

Support Team in designing, developing and executing new strategies that increase market adoption of low carbon retrofits.
Work with market stakeholders to find the most cost-effective strategies to enable decarbonization, reduce energy usage and demand.
Support the development of program resources for outreach and educational purposes:

Mine the Program for insights and lessons learned, and translate those insights into market facing resources for awareness raising and capacity building in the decarbonization space.

Promote program participant successes through a variety of market engagement mechanisms.

    Internal

Contribute to a team culture of openness and collaboration.
Identify and pursue opportunities for program(s) improvement.
