    Requirements

    General Summary

    Control and evaluate coating materials, processes, and manufacturing capabilities to determine and implement optimal quality on finished goods.

    Provide input on concepts and cost estimates for new launch products.

    Own the development of manufacturing plans for coating/plating, floor layouts, process flows, and PFMEAs.

    Develops processes and validates process parameters optimization through SPC analysis.

    Creates capability studies, critical settings and limits, creates setup instructions, and chemical usage tracking mechanisms.

    Responsible for process troubleshooting and technical support.

    Responsible for leading analysis of root cause/corrective action for quality concerns related to coating line equipment and processes.

    Responsible for supporting Engineering Change Requests.

    Support and lead cost reduction efforts including TPS, AFMS, and Kaizen activities.

    Owns coating process capacity planning, labor standards, and work cell layouts.

    Provides training and development to lab technicians on conducting process checks and reacting to out of spec conditions.

    Trains lab technicians on improving process control through cause-and-effect examples of real world coating process challenges.

    Ability to analyze data, identify improvement opportunities, and lead kaizen activity.

    Duties Responsibilities
    • Duties verify and maintain all coating equipment to company, local, state, and government safety standards.
    • Understand and comply with hazardous material standards.
    • Ensures and maintains the quality guidelines, procedures, and standards are consistently followed throughout the manufacturing operation.
    • Ability to troubleshoot RCA on non-conforming parts and implement changes to process in a controlled manner.
    • Ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and controls related issues with coatings equipment.
    • Provides cost estimations for new product and engineering changes.
    • Determines testing equipment needs for new product and engineering changes.
    • Plans work center layouts.
    • Develops flow charts to track improvements and drive positive change.
    • Supports manufacturing floor leaders with issues related to non-conforming material.
    • Develops corrective actions for any coating related issues causing losses to OA, Scrap, Materials, and labor.
    • Initiates and completes sample runs for feasibility studies and targeted improvements.
    • Develops process flows, PFMEAs, process risk analysis', gage plans and control plans for associated equipment.
    • Investigates customer complaints and other problems in area of responsibility on the production floor.
    • Investigates new technologies and improved equipment for implementation.
    • Implements Engineering Change Requests within the coating dept.
    • Researches, recommends, prepares and leads FA's for Capital Expense Projects.
    • Performs time studies on equipment and validates or corrects to achieve optimal machine performances.
    • Drives continuous improvement in all areas of process/equipment ownership.
    • Develops Preventive Maintenance requirements and spare parts list for equipment and works closely with divisional maintenance leaders to prevent breakdowns.
    • Lead the planning, design, procurement, and implementation of new coating/plating equipment.
    Skills Abilities Required
    • Min 1~3 years experience as the engineering process owner of Electro-coat or similar surface treatment manufacturing processes.
    • Min 1~3 years experience developing PFMEAs/Control Plans /and process control parameters.
    • Min 1~3 years experience driving continuous improvement initiatives using TPS or similar CI models.
    • Min 1~3 years experience troubleshooting electromechanical surface treatment manufacturing equipment
    • Bachelors in an engineering related field or Bachelors degree with 1~3 years experience of requirements listed above
