    Description

    LHH is supporting a client in Beltsville with their new Accounting Manager search. The ideal candidate will be a creative problem solver who likes to work in an entrepreneurial atmosphere.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and forecasts.
    2. Automated Systems Process Improvement: Immediately and continually assess and improve accounting processes; operational and finance integration; and customer interface as well as internal controls for security, efficiency and accuracy.
    3. Integrated Operational Accounting and Support: Collaborate closely with operational department heads to automate reporting and communications systems, streamline reporting and provide necessary operational support.
    4. Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of skilled accountants, fostering their professional development and growth.
    5. Compliance: Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal financial regulations and reporting requirements.
    6. Audit Support: Coordinate and manage external audits, providing necessary documentation and support to auditors.
    7. Financial Analysis: Provide insights and analysis on financial performance to support strategic decision-making.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
    • Proven experience (4+ years) in accounting and financial management
    • Strong technical and systems skills knowledge of accounting systems, reporting software, as well as financial regulations, and reporting standards.
    • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
    • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
