    Job Title: Director of Information Technology

    Location: Mater Dei Catholic High School, Chula Vista, CA

    Position Type: Full-time

    FLSA: Exempt

    Reports To: President of Mater Dei Catholic

    Position Summary:

    The Director of Information Technology (IT) at Mater Dei Catholic High School provides strategic leadership and oversight for all aspects of information technology services, systems, and infrastructure. This position plays a crucial role in advancing the school's mission by enhancing instructional practices, supporting student learning, and optimizing operational efficiency through technology. The Director of IT collaborates closely with school leadership and stakeholders to develop and implement a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with the school's goals and objectives. The Director of IT oversees Mater Dei Catholic High School (MDCHS), Mater Dei Catholic Elementary (MDCE), and Juan Diego Adult Ed (JDAC).

    Key Responsibilities:

    Strategic Leadership:


    • Develop and implement a technology vision and roadmap aligned with the school's mission and objectives.


    • Provide strategic guidance and recommendations to school leadership on technology investments, initiatives, and policies.


    • Lead the development and execution of IT strategies to enhance instructional practices, student learning outcomes, and operational efficiency.


    • Capable of displaying empathy towards others and adept at adapting promptly to varying circumstances.


    • Ensure the compatibility of all utilized systems to foster heightened efficiency.


    • Convene regular meetings to provide team support and facilitate project roadmaps and updates.


    • Cultivate enduring and profound professional relationships, fortifying bonds through genuine investment and dedication.

    IT Operations Management:


    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT department, including budgeting, staffing, and resource allocation.


    • Ensure the availability, reliability, and security of IT systems, networks, and infrastructure.


    • Direct the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of hardware, software, and cloud-based solutions.


    • Monitor and evaluate emerging technologies and trends to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement for faculty, staff and students.


    • Ensure meticulous maintenance of asset inventory.

    Educational Technology Integration:


    • Collaborate with faculty and instructional staff to integrate technology into the curriculum effectively.


    • Provide training and support to educators on the use of technology tools and resources for instruction and assessment.


    • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement in educational technology practices.


    • Communicate regularly with administration for proposal of projects regarding technology.

    Data Management and Analytics:


    • Oversee the development and maintenance of data management systems and databases.


    • Utilize data analytics to inform decision-making and drive improvements in student outcomes and operational efficiency.


    • Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations and best practices.


    • Oversee an easily comprehensible yet robust backup and recovery plan, ensuring seamless disaster recovery.

    Vendor Management and Partnerships:


    • Manage relationships with technology vendors, service providers, and consultants.


    • Negotiate contracts, agreements, and service level agreements to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality of services.


    • Cultivate strategic partnerships with technology companies, educational institutions, and community organizations.

    Qualifications:


    • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.


    • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in information technology leadership roles, preferably in an educational or non-profit setting.


    • Strong technical expertise in IT infrastructure, systems administration, network management, and cybersecurity.


    • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, budget management, and project management.


    • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.


    • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and build consensus around technology initiatives.

    Physical Requirements:


    • Ability to work in an office environment and perform tasks that may require prolonged sitting, standing, and computer use.
