ABOUT THE POSITION

  • The Program Coordinator is a professional management level classification. Incumbents provide administrative, analytical, planning, and management support for programs, projects, and facilities where substantive administrative, policy, and/or technical issues require specialized analysis, recommendation, and implementation.
  • Program Coordinator positions are allocated to various departments throughout the County of San Diego; this list may be used by various departments.
  • The current vacancy is in the Information Technology (IT) Services division of the Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA). Information Technology Services is seeking a dynamic and innovative individual to provide support for health information systems as the Electronic Health Record (EHR) IT Coordinator. The future incumbent will report to the EHR Information Technology Principal and will play a vital role in implementing, operating, and integrating health information systems that serve a large complex system providing physical and behavioral health services.
  • The primary goal of HHSA's Electronic Health Record team is to maximize patient safety, clinical opportunities, security of health information; to identify and fill gaps in care by implementing and enhancing health information systems; and to optimize business processes.
The Electronic Health Record (EHR) IT Coordinator does so by:


  • Facilitating adoption of health information systems.
  • Leading business process changes needed for health service optimization.
  • Participating in crossfunctional efforts dedicated to this initiative.
  • Keeping abreast of technological and regulatory changes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

HIRING TIMELINE AND DATES
***The timeline for this recruitment is outlined below.

  • Job Offer and Background Process begins June 7, 2024.

Note:
Current County employees may be excluded from additional background screening.

  • Preemployment

Medical Screening:
Approximately 3 days following successful background investigation results.

  • Anticipated Start Date: Start date will be based upon successful completion of medical screening or other mutually agreed upon date.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S.

college or university, or certified foreign studies equivalency, AND, four (4) years of professional experience performing analysis, budget management, program administration, engineering, or closely related work in a program performing planning and analysis; OR a combination of education and/or experience as stated above.
