    Job Description and Duties

    Submit a Statement of Qualifications with your application to be considered for the position under the Chief Health Policy Officer's guidance. The Health Program Specialist II (HPS II) will act as an expert in health programs for the Office of Youth and Community Restoration (OYCR) in California, leading program planning, health policy evaluation, and providing expertise across counties. The HPS II will focus on OYCR policies impacting youth in the justice system, county probation, and community health services. Responsibilities include assessing statewide initiatives' impact on health equity for court-involved youth and collaborating with internal and external partners to enhance access to health services. The HPS II will oversee projects, analyze data, and provide recommendations to OYCR leadership on evidence-based interventions to support youth. This role requires knowledge of health equity, program evaluation, and health policy to improve healthcare for court-involved youth.

    Working Conditions

    This is a remote-centered telework role with at least 50% of work conducted from an alternative location.

    Special Requirements

    The Supplemental Questionnaire (SQ) is essential to pre-screen applicants for the vacant HPS II position at OYCR's Health Policy Division. The SQ should not exceed three pages and must be submitted in Arial Font size 12. Applications without the SQ will not be considered for an interview.

    • Provide examples of planning, coordinating, and delivering training and technical assistance.
    • Share experiences in leading teams or workgroups to produce various products.
    • Describe expertise in interpreting and applying health-related laws and regulations within government programs.

    Include detailed employment history, job descriptions, and hours worked per week in the application to expedite the screening process. A complete employment history is required, including start/end dates and hours worked per week. Resumes should not replace employment history documentation.

    Ensure eligibility by including all relevant education and transcripts for verification if education qualifications are met. Training and Development assignments may be available, pending approval by the Hiring Authority.

    Candidates residing outside California may be interviewed but must provide proof of California residence before appointment.
