PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Create proof of insurance letter/loss of coverage letters
Monitor COBRA for terminated employees including set up severance benefits and ensuring paperwork is processed timely
First point of contact for insurance inquires including vetting phone calls, ordering insurance cards as requested, correcting DOBs or SSNs in UKG and at the carrier level, and correcting FTS status in UKG and at the carrier level
Assisting with new hire benefits overview including being POC for new hires as they are completing their benefit enrollment, addressing additional questions, and reaching out to new hire who's approaching the 30-day mark and have not elected benefits
Assisting with QLE by securing supporting documentation, uploading documents in electronic document manager folder in UKG, approving/denying QLE and new hire life events, and helping employee navigate the QLE platform
Assist with LOAs for both Corporate and TEC including being first point of contact, providing written instructions for requesting a LOA, providing appropriate letters, setting up leave in UKG Core and Workforce Management, returning employee to active status in Core and Workforce Management once they are released to return, and monitoring leave and reaching out to employee who have not returned by estimate return to work date
Responsible for being first point of contact for NYL (New York Life) to provide additional info regarding leave (last day worked, estimated return to work date, bi-weekly salary, job description, etc.)
Monitor payroll's hours worked report to identify any potentials need for leave
Reach out to managers and/or employees regarding potential need for leave
Medical Support Orders
Other assignments as needed
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
2+ years' experience in employee benefits and employee benefit management within an HRIS SystemUKG knowledge preferred but not required
HR background preferred
High level of customer service
Ability to multi-task and work well in a fast paced, structured environment
Detail oriented data entry required
Verifiable working knowledge of basic health benefits from the employer perspective

WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Location: This position operates between an office and manufacturing plant environment and is often assigned to a specific shift or hours. The Employee must be able to perform job functions in an environment with varying difficult work conditions such as extreme cold, heat, inclement weather, at heights, and/or while exposed to constant/intermittent loud noisesTeamwork: This position will work with others to ensure efficiency in the workplace
Listening Skills: This position will need to understand how to use machinery properly and safely to prevent accidents and ensure all tasks are completed accurately
Ability to follow instructions: Managers assign tasks and responsibilities, which vary; this position should be able to follow instructions competently
Methodical approach: Production lines follow a set process, so this position needs a methodical approach to ensure all tasks are completed in the correct order for a smooth-running production line
Concentration: This position may perform the same or similar tasks repeatedly, so a strong level of concentration when carrying out these tasks is important for quality control purposes. This role is often fast paced, so being able to maintain focus at all times is important
