Collaborate with the school principal and organize the program following guidelines provided by the local
education agency (LEA).
Monitor instructions to ensure teachers provide the content instruction, including the approved program or
portions of the lessons throughout the day.
Ensure teachers provide direct, explicit, and systematic reading intervention services and support that
improve any identified area of reading deficiency.
Ensure teachers are using evidence-based reading strategies or programs, or both, to accelerate student
reading achievement.
Ensure teachers have access to approved comprehensive mathematics curricula for core instruction as
provided by the district.
Provide teachers with the approved mathematics intervention programs or curricula or both for Tier 2 and
Tier 3 interventions.
Collect academic data to ensure teachers consistently implement strategic teaching, and evidence-based teaching practices.
Attend paid professional learning sponsored by the district before the program starts, and provide
orientation to teachers before the first day of the program and ongoing as needed.
Provide time for teachers to plan for daily lessons and instruction not to exceed one hour after the program
ends.
