DESCRIPTION OF WORK:

As a Youth Development Counselor Manager, you will plan, organize and direct residential care and treatment, as well as the social development and rehabilitation programs for adjudicated youth housed at the facility


Your duties will include:

  • Directing the development and implementation of the individual case management plan per the Master Case Planning system for each assigned youth resident
  • Overseeing and directing the provision of individual and group, counseling
  • Administering constructive discipline, security, instruction, recreation and residential care
  • Participating in planning, coordinating and directing the facility operations including treatment, recreation, housekeeping, business and administrative activities
  • Ensuring the facility's compliance with all federal, state and departmental guidelines

Work Schedule and Additional Information:


  • Fulltime employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday
  • Friday, with a 30minute lunch.
  • Overtime and travel as needed
  • Must be willing to accept employment at Southeast Youth Development Center, Montgomery County

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY:


QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:


  • One year of experience as a Youth Development Counselor Supervisor;
    or:
  • Two years of professional counseling experience with delinquent, pre-delinquent or socially maladjusted youth in an organized program, which included one year in a supervisory or consultative capacity, and a bachelor's degree in the behavioral sciences, special education, juvenile delinquency or criminal justice;_ _
    or:
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training including two years of professional counseling experience with delinquent, predelinquent, or socially maladjusted youth in an organized program, which included one year in a supervisory or consultative capacity.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:


  • A conditional offer of employment will require a satisfactory completion of a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
  • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
