Job Description

We're looking for a full-time Customer Service Representative to join our Sequatchie County team This position is full-time and reports to the Dunlap, TN office.

Must live in or be willing to relocate to SVEC's Sequatchie County service area.

Responsibilities:

Daily cash handling/ taking payments
Processing new service requests
Calculating and discussing billing
Guiding members through the new construction process, inspections and permits
Educating members on how to conserve power
Informing members on cooperative programs
Explaining ancillary services
Works well as a team player

Requirements:

Must have good communications skills and be comfortable interacting with co-op members and staff on a daily basis;
Minimum two years post high school education;
Must have three to five years of customer service experience;
Should be proficient in Microsoft Office software;
Must have basic accounting and money handling experience;
Must be able to multitask with ease;
Must be able to handle high-stress situations;
Must live in the Marion County service area or be willing to relocate to the Sequatchie service area

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Requires occasional travel across SVEC area, rare travel outside SVEC area. Some after-hours work is required due to occasional planned events, storm-related events, or emergency events. Occasional travel to related conferences, training, and meetings. Occasional heavy lifting up to 25 lbs. ABOUT SVEC

Sequachee Valley Electric Cooperative (SVEC) is a member-owned distribution cooperative that delivers power generated by the Tennessee Valley Authority. Located in a growing area, SVEC currently serves 37,000 meters, primarily in four counties in southeast Tennessee: Marion, Sequatchie, Grundy and Bledsoe. SVEC owns SV Services which includes two subsidiaries: SVEConnect, a fiber-to-the-premises business and SV Propane. SVEC is a member of the Tennessee Electric Cooperative Association and is a Touchstone Energy Cooperative.
