    Description


    The Fixed Term Housing Coordinator plays a critical support role for Housing by ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, adherence to university policies & coordination within the office and will support various responsibilities within the central office and the residence halls.

    Candidates will have some experience working in a fast-paced, creative environment; and a commitment to the values and practices of equity, inclusion, and social justice.

    This position requires organizational and troubleshooting skills; and the ability to perform a variety of complex and diverse tasks.
    This is a fixed term for approximately 30 weeks between December 2023 through and June 2024. The Fixed Term Housing Coordinator will work from our Greenwich Village campus for 35 hours each week.     This position is a Local 1205 Clerical Unit position covered by a collective bargaining agreement between Local 1205 Teamsters and The New School.

    RESPONSIBILITIESProvide front desk customer service to residential students and their families regarding housing-related inquiries; Respond to questions and requests for support that come through the non-person Housing email account.

    Conduct walk-throughs of residential spaces to ensure readiness for each scheduled check-in, partnering with Buildings and Facilities to assess and address any concerns in the spaces.

    Assist with the processing of housing related expenses and invoices.
    Assist with Associate Director of Housing Operations and Assistant Director of Housing Operations with housing management software.
    Assist in any room assignments, including updating building rosters and ensuring accurate billing using StarRez and Banner.
    Assist staff to ensure proper billing for damages, cancellation fees, and deposit releases using StarRez and Banner.

    Create basic marketing materials for the Housing and Residential Education department and social media content for Opening, Closing, Housing Selection, Room Change, Health and Safety Inspections.

    Assist Housing Operations in reporting, analysis, and set-up of Modules within StarRez.
    Create a marketing calendar for the upcoming academic calendar and map out marketing initiatives.
    Assist with Census verification, Room Changes, and Health and Safety Inspections.
    Other duties as assigned.
