    Description

    A social services organization on Long Island is looking for a motivated professional to join as their new Housing Coordinator. In this role, the Housing Coordinator will help Veteran families find and secure affordable housing.

    Responsibilities:

    • Engage program participants to track housing search progress
    • Build relationships with housing providers, real estate brokers, and landlords
    • Create a housing bank for Veteran families
    • Identify barriers to affordable housing
    • Provide workshops and referrals for housing readiness
    • Assist with housing application/interview process
    • Monitor housing placement rates
    • Ensure compliance with funding requirements
    • Coordinate Financial Assistance
    • Develop relationships with relevant organizations
    • Participate in community outreach

    Qualifications:

    • 1+ year experience in Housing Services, Real Estate, Sales, or relevant field
    • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field
    • Networking and negotiation skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office
    • Problem-solving and time management skills
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Attention to detail and organizational skills

    Desired Skills:

    • Certified Financial Coach credential
    • Experience in homeless/veteran services
    • Background as a Veteran or family member
