What is Job Corps? It is the country's most extensive nationwide residential career training program and has been operating for over 50 years. The program helps eligible young people ages 16 through 24 complete their high school education, trains them for meaningful careers, and assists them with obtaining employment. Job Corps has trained and educated over two million individuals since 1964.
Oneonta Job Corps offers training in the medical trades (Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, and Medical Administrative Assistant), Automotive, Building Construction Technology, Carpentry, Electrical, and Material Handling Trades.
Position Available: Admissions Counselor (Mobile, AL Office)
We are seeking a full-time Admissions Counselor for our Mobile, AL office who is reliable, compassionate, has a great work ethic, and also loves to work with youth Join our Outreach and Admissions team as they provide an important role by actively recruiting students into our vocational trade programs. This is an excellent position for an outgoing individual who loves traveling throughout the State of Alabama, meeting new people, and can spread the word about the opportunities our program can provide for potential students
In this position, you will support enrollment by informing potential students about the programs, recruiting new students, assisting students with the application process, and providing outreach, assessment, admissions, and case management of our students. Developing and maintaining relationships with youth agencies as well as employment and training providers will assist you in achieving a high level of success
We are looking for an individual who is well organized with great attention to detail and possesses strong oral and written communication, and strong presentation skills. The ability to work as a team member and the ability to be self-motivated is essential for success. The Admissions Counselor must have the ability to work in a goal-oriented environment, meeting monthly student recruitment goals. The position requires proficiency in the use of computers and common computer software (Microsoft Office and databases).
Bachelor's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related field preferred. An equivalent combination of education, vocational training, and/or experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-to-year basis. One or more years of experience in youth counseling is preferred. Must possess a valid Driving License with an acceptable driving record.
