THE POSITION:

The PA CareerLink Montgomery County Office has an opportunity for you to join our team as a Career Advisor Together we will provide customer-centered services designed to enhance workforce development activities and service strategies for job seekers and employers.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:


  • As a Career Advisor, you will help bridge the gap between job seekers and employers by promoting and sharing workforce development programs and services within established policies and regulations. For job seekers, you will conduct vocational and career assessments, provide group and individual career guidance, and help them use the appropriate tools and resources to achieve their employment goals. You will conduct case management, workshops, and other orientation services to coordinate support with other providers and track each job seeker's progress. For employers, you will analyze workforce needs and skill set requirements, refer qualified job seekers, and propose hiring strategies. Your skills are essential to help both job seekers and employers enroll in our services to address and meet their needsInterested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information:


  • Fulltime employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday
  • Friday, with 30minute lunch.

Telework:You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Montgomery County.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY:


QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:


  • Successful completion of the Career Advisor Trainee (commonwealth title) training program;
    or:
  • One year of experience interviewing the public to collect and identify customer needs, evaluating eligibility for programs, and researching data to make decisions, and a bachelor's degree;
    or:
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
