THE POSITION:


Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to showcase your organizational skills and strong attention to detail? The Department of Labor & Industry is seeking a Clerical Assistant 2 to provide vital office support within the Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation Services, Norristown District Office.

This is a temporary grant funded position, which will support initiatives for increasing customer participation in the Vocational Rehabilitation program and to increase services for people with disabilities to secure and maintain employment and independence.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:


  • As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will have the opportunity to provide direct clerical support for Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors. Specific duties include transcribing taped dictation, written notes, case notes, and drafted correspondence from assigned counselors and checking for grammatical neatness and accuracy.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:


  • Limitedterm, fulltime employment.
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday
  • Friday, with a 30minute lunch.

Telework:You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, upon successful completion of the probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Norristown.

Salary:_ _**Most employees will start at the beginning level of the advertised salary.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY:


QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:


  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title);
    or:
  • Graduation from high school;
    or:
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
