Job Description:
The Senior Accountant position is a full-time, remote position with occasional travel to the company's Washington, DC and Waltham, MA offices.
This position is primarily responsible for all areas relating to government contractor accounting, financial reporting and analysis, and internal controls.
The Senior Accountant supervises an accounting specialist and works with other accounting and finance professionals within the organization.Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
·
Oversee and support all accounting and finance operations, including accounts receivable/billing, semi-monthly payroll, accounts payable, journal entries, financial reporting and analysis, reconciliations and adjustments, policy and procedures, all under GAAP, DCAA, FTR, and FAR
compliance
·
Oversee and conduct month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close activities with monthly briefings to Executive staff that includes analysis and recommendations
·
Support the review of contracts and contract modifications as it relates to the accounting and project setups in Procas
·
Compile and analyze financial information to ensure adjustments and reclassification of costs comply with GAAP and DCAA regulations
·
Develop, manage, monitor, and report on company and project budgets and forecasts
·
Monitor project profitability, project billing status, and expense reporting
·
Work with growth and operations staff to develop pricing strategies and prices for proposals
·
Respond to inquiries from the Executive Staff regarding financial results and special reporting requests
·
Develop, implement, and document new procedures and features to enhance the departmental workflow
·
Train and evaluate new and existing direct reports as needed
Requirements:
·
8+ years of accounting experience, with 5 of those years in government contracting
·
Experience with the FAR, DCAA, and FTR
·
Knowledge of Government contracts, including funding, T&M and FFP invoicing, and indirect/Wrap rates
·
Experience computing and analyzing financial ratios
·
Extensive computer experience in Excel (Pivot tables, VLookups, etc.)
·
Detail-oriented with strong organizational, time management, and prioritization abilities
·
Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications:
·
DCAA incurred cost submissions and audits
