    Description

    Job Title: Senior Telecom Manager

    Location: Phoenix, AZ

    Job Description: The Senior Telecom Manager is accountable for providing oversight and managing daily operations of work performed by construction managers, supervisors, and subcontractors which handle telecom construction/installation/maintenance of all wireline projects related to underground/aerial/buried utility construction projects. The Senior Telecom Manager ensures that all projects are completed in accordance with client contract requirements to meet all safety, quality, and production goals. It is also the responsibility of the Senior Telecom Manager to managing schedules, identify project risks, and clearly communicate updates to key stakeholders according to client rules, regulations, and standards. This role reports to a director or VP.

    Daily Responsibilities:

    • Manage 4+ construction managers, 4+ supervisors, and administrative staff
    • Provide coordination as needed with utility companies providing services/infrastructure for the project, including schedule, cost management, permitting and inspection requirements
    • Manage operations of all work performed by in-house crews and subcontractors including equipment/materials, construction process, and personnel requirements
    • Responsible for managing financials and budget
    • Primary customer interface at regional level and resolve customer escalations/roadblock mitigation
    • Responsible for cross functional coordination to ensure build/schedule align with customer priorities
    • Maintain relationships and act as liaison in matters associated with federal, state, and municipal requirements
    • Drive progress and deadlines met through KPI's (build Production, overage Job Management, regional Productivity, etc.)

    Required Qualifications:

    • 5 to 10 years of telecom management experience in wireline OSP construction, especially managing team members who supervise others
    • Proven experience driving team to improve both in quantity and quality
    • Demonstrated strong consultative, organizational, and communication skills necessary for maintaining productive and professional relationships with employees and customers
    • Demonstrated strong leadership skills directing the performance and activities of crews that perform underground/aerial/buried utility construction
    • Demonstrated strong documentation skills, proven analytical, and problem-solving abilities in a changing environment
    • Demonstrated strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, fulfilling staffing requirements, training, safety, compliance, etc.

    Desired Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business, construction management, or telecom
