    Job Description

    Are you looking to join a San Diego-based company that is a leader in the Distribution field with a 50-year history? They are currently in need of an AR Manager to join their team. This company values experience and is seeking a capable leader to oversee a department of 10 in both Collections & Receivables. If you have a background in a middle-market sized company, dealing with metrics to reduce DSO and Bad Debt, along with financial reporting, this position could be a great fit for you.

    This is a permanent, direct-hire position and requires you to be within driving distance to Mission Valley. You'll have the flexibility to work from home one day per week. The target salary offered is around $125k with a 15% bonus and excellent benefits.

    Essential Duties

    • Empower the team to achieve their daily collections metrics
    • Analyze, develop, and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure team accountability
    • Facilitate monthly aging review meetings with supervisors and regional senior leadership
    • Develop best practices and continuous improvement activities to mitigate errors and maintain compliance
    • Manage and lead staff training, conduct performance evaluations, oversee new hire onboarding for improved productivity and work quality
    • Coach and mentor team supervisors and members for professional development and success
    • Act as the point of contact for customers with overdue accounts, approving refund requests and collaborating in negotiation efforts
    • Oversee resolution of escalated customer issues and complaints regarding billing, tax, and customer service discrepancies
    • Analyze customer accounts for skipped, partial, or error payments
    • Contact customers to resolve remittance discrepancies
    • Conduct meetings with team members to ensure successful achievement of month-end goals
    • Participate in month-end close and annual financial audit
    • Support independent special projects
    • Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by senior leadership

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred
    • 5+ years of management experience in Accounts Receivable & Collections with strong leadership skills
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present, and influence effectively at all levels of the organization
    • Proven success in meeting collections goals, reducing DSO and Bad Debt
    • Strong Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook skills required, proficient in formulas, VLOOKUP, pivot tables
