As a Senior Technical Product Manager, Core Customer Experience, you'll lead teams to deliver experiences that help our members discover, track, and share books, and enable authors, publishers and advertisers to connect with our audience of engaged readers.

    Key job responsibilities

    Ship products and experiences that meet core user needs to discover, track and share books you want to read and have read.

    Work closely with internal teams (engineering, design, sales, analytics, research, customer care), partners, and management to execute on product roadmap.

    Write customer-focused product specs and define and track success metrics for all projects.

    Manage project schedules and dependencies, and drive cross-functional initiatives.

    Prioritize product enhancements & triage bugs.

    Use or commission market research, usability studies, and focus groups to identify benchmarks and build business cases for solving customer problems.

    Leverage data analysis skills to research difficult or ambiguous problems, leading cross-disciplinary teams where necessary and communicating recommendations to senior leadership.

    Engage with customers to identify key product issues in market; solicit feedback on product roadmap.

    A day in the life

    Goodreads is currently reimagining our products and brand. In this role, you will help the team define a vision for growing our business and continually identify new opportunities to deliver value to all of our customers - readers, authors, and publisher/advertiser partners. You will be responsible for core customer experiences including our book page, reviews and ratings, tracking experiences, and Reading Challenge, as well as integrations with world-class Amazon products, Kindle, Audible, etc. Youll work with design, engineering, data science, customer support, marketing, and other stakeholders to ship experiences across all touchpoints including web, iOS and Android apps, and emails.

    You will join the Product Team at Goodreads. Our mission is to help people find books they love, and get more out of reading. When were not working, were looking to expand our horizons in other ways, including visits by bestselling authors, hackathons, team-led tech talks, game nights, and volunteering at local charities. And, of course, we love books and have free books and internal book clubs.

    **BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**

    Five+ years of professional experience with at least three to five years in a product/business/engineering capacity

    Experience driving decisions for a technical product, ideally a consumer facing website or native app.

    BS/BA required, ideally in technical or quantitative discipline.

    **PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**

    MBA preferred

    Passion for product: conceiving, designing, building, and shipping it

    Deep understanding of user interface design and user research best practices

    Experience with personalization using big data

    Strong sense of urgency. Desire to ship and learn.

    Background/experience in software engineering

    Experience A/B testing and optimizing user experience

    Strong written and verbal communication skills

    Demonstrated ability to think creatively

    Highly quantitative. Enjoy analyzing user data - lots of it

    Ability to prioritize ruthlessly and get stuff done
