    **Sr Financial Analyst - Inventory**

    **Location**

    **Job Summary**

    Barnes & Noble is seeking a Sr. Financial Analyst who will be responsible for various month-end close processes relating to our Stores, Ecom & Nook. This role will be responsible for various processes relating to the Physical Inventory reconciliation, Cafe and Coop functions, and will prepare schedules for various audits.

    **What You Do**

    Month End Close:

    Prepare Store stock ledger entries based on manual entries posted to cost of sales

    Prepare and maintain batch logs for Store & Ecom month end manual entries

    Reconcile General ledger to Stock ledger COGS to ensure they are in balance

    Upload Manual manual entries into system. Partner with IT on any upload related issues

    Partner with Accounts Payable on various intercompany items and monthly Invoice accruals

    Prepare and post entries relating to caf month end close and prepare Caf gross margin report

    Partner with Caf Operations on store Caf monthly inventories

    Partner with Loss Prevention on various invoice adjustments

    Reconcile weekly freight from Third Party (GMC) freight payment company and prepare monthly entries to stock ledger

    Prepare weekly freight wire transfer for Third party (Tranzact) freight payment company

    Prepare and review weekly Ship from Store Freight invoice activity entries

    Tracking of various MusicDVD vendor rebates for both stores and Ecom

    Review DC intercompany transactions for Store, Ecom & Nook COGS postings

    Partner with Merchants on VSM (Vendor Shared Markdown ) events

    Track sales for various VSM events and prepare Vendor Chargebacks for both Stores & Ecom

    Prepare monthly Royalty accruals for Nook

    Prepare and post entries for Used Book business

    Prepare various monthly GL account reconciliations for Stores, Ecom & Nook

    Prepare and post entries for Closing stores

    Physical Inventories:

    Review and validate Physical inventory invoices from RGIS (3rd party Inventory Service)

    Reconcile various IT feeds on physical inventory systems back to store & RGIS data

    Prepare schedules relating to miscount forms submitted by Loss Prevention

    Partner with Loss Prevention on any Pre-inventory adjustments

    Coop Advertising:

    Review monthly Coop contracts to System entries and prepare monthly coop income entry

    Review monthly Coop expense schedules from Creative & Advertising area and prepare monthly accruals

    Partner with Coop department for any unsigned or missing contracts

    Audits:

    Prepare reports and provide support for Internal, external and bank audits

    **Knowledge & Experience**

    Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance required

    3-5 years related experience required

    Good interpersonal, written and communication skills

    Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with strong attention to detail

    Proficient in Microsoft Office, IMM and Data Warehouse
