Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Financial Analyst (Research Data Management team).


Responsibilities:


  • Setting up within 23 business days new awards and award modifications; post to appropriate ledgers grants costs budgets; perform analysis of PYCF and implement it in current budget year and validate default chartfields.
  • Activate contracts, create billing and revenue plans; establish prepaids and fixed events / milestones associated to contracts line; manage renewable services.
  • Setting up new sponsors; creating and updating customer contact information and link all the changes to billing plans in contract pages.
  • Update PeopleSoft related system tables as required; review the results of nightly processes; analyze and troubleshoot functional system problems within Grants Management modules. Assist in systemwide grant related process testing; assist management with reporting duties required for an assigned group of sponsored awards to include also closeout and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Analyze and update the system with all milestones for reporting purposes for federal and nonfederal grants and contracts. Analyze and populate the milestones for billing for all subgrants, subcontracts and contracts that have billing as mechanism of reimbursement for costs incurred
  • Assist management with reporting duties required for an assigned group of sponsored awards to include also closeout and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain the Research Data Management workflow with Sponsored Programs Administration, Research Finance Staff, Department and other financial community. Maintain an accurate log, distribute the work according to approved workflow, follow up on requests and provide frequent reports to upper management.

  • Attention to detail when reviewing large amounts of financial data.
  • Identifies areas of improvement for current processes and provides recommendations.

  • Follows all SOPs and Job Aids in performing their day to data responsibilities.
  • Exceptions are managed and resolved. Root cause analyses are preformed when appropriate.
  • Practices Continuous Improvement.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, peers, senior management and faculty.
  • Positively represents the Institution when dealing with internal and external stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:

To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree and 1-3 years relevant work experience or an equivalent combination.
Superior communication skills, both written and verbal.
Possess strong customer service and problem solving skill sets.


Preferred Qualifications:


Bachelors degree in business, finance or other appropriate discipline with at least 2-3 years of relevant financial and grants management experience, or a combination of comparable education and experience.

Experience with Enterprise Systems, basic Excel knowledge, PeopleSoft Financials or Oracle
