    HR operations specialist

    Lunar Energy is seeking an energetic and personable HR operations specialist to work alongside its global People team and report to our Director of People.

    As the lead on HR operations, you will be the first point of contact for employees and external stakeholders to provide support across a range of different areas including onboarding and offboarding, immigration, payroll, benefits, compliance, policy and all our HR systems (including as lead contact with our professional employer organization, Sequoia).

    You'll play a pivotal role in helping us scale our functions and processes in line with our big ambitions to electrify all homes and reduce carbon emissions.

    The role will be mainly office-based in Mountain View, with some flexibility to work remotely.

    As we grow our HR function, we anticipate that you will be provided with significant growth opportunities outside of operations e.g.

    as an HR business partner, helping to grow our learning & development and manager training programs and culture building.
    • This role requires to be in the office at least 4 days a weekOn a given day at Lunar, you'll likely...Serve as the main point of contact for employee questions and concerns and provide information about policies, systems, tools, working conditions, wages, and employee benefitsEstablish and maintain department records and reports; recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual efficiency, accuracy, and automation improvementsResolve any administrative issues for employees, working with our PEO as appropriate and being the lead administrator of our HRIS (Prism)


    Support our in-house recruitment team and lead on new hire pre-onboarding and onboarding, ensuring hiring managers are providing the best possible onboarding experienceEnsure compliance with US wage and hour laws, data privacy laws, and state regulationsWorking with external advisers, manage all aspects of Lunar's U.S.

    immigration program and serve as the internal point of contact for U.S. immigration issues- develop policies, processes, and procedures for the U.S. immigration program and assist candidates and employees in connection with U.S. immigration requirementsManage open enrollment and benefits administration- perform benefits administration to include claims resolution, invoice approval, and annual re-evaluation of policies for cost-effectivenessDevelop and maintain affirmative action program:
    file EEO-1 annually, maintain other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulationsProvide support on employee issues for our exempt and nonexempt employees, support resolution of interpersonal issues and advising on handbook policy, advise on our various leave policies including flexible PTOAdministering terminations and employee offboarding, updating our systems as appropriate

    Desire Skills:

    Bachelor's Degree with SHRM or HRCI certification credentialsA minimum of three years of related HR experienceThorough knowledge of federal/local regulations related to HR Understanding and working practice of all immigration laws, procedures and deadlines, particularly those related to H-1b, J-1, OPT, PERM, TN, and I-9 complianceGood communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop a high degree of personal credibility at all levels of the organizationStrong organizational, prioritization, and analytical skillsAn ability to handle sensitive and critical information, conversations/situations with expertise and discretionHigh attention to detail Exceptional project and personnel management skillsExcellent ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy, fast-growth environment Exhibit discretion, flexibility, and willingness to work closely with our senior management teamBenefits:We're dedicated to creating a remarkable employee experience.

    Please note that the salary range information that follows is a good faith estimate for this position provided under the Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act for California applicants.

    The salary range estimate for this position depending on the level of experience is $100,000-$145,000 USDThe actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package & benefits, will be at the company's sole discretion, and determined by factors including but not limited to years of experience, job level, geographic location, and other relevant business considerations.
