    Description

    A non-profit organization in New York City is currently looking for a new team member to join their staff in Brooklyn as a Case Manager.

    Responsibilities:
    • Engage residents in treatment processes, through individual and group counseling
    • Develop and maintain housing referral resources, assist residents in locating and securing permanent housing
    • Assist residents in referral and placement in community-based resources
    • Assess residents' vocational and educational needs, aptitudes, and interests through interviews and testing
    • Develop and maintain placement and follow-up after assessment and counseling
    • Participate in training seminars to enhance clinical skills with clients
    • Attend supervision sessions, case conferences, and staff meetings
    • Develop mutually agreed goals with residents
    • Perform assigned duties by the Social Work Supervisor

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Health or Human Services-related field preferred, with at least (2+) years of experience OR Associates or GED/HS Diploma with 4+ years of crisis counseling experience, especially in a residential shelter for domestic violence victims
    • Training and experience in assessing clients' vocational and educational needs
    • Success in engaging clients for obtaining Public Assistance, Medicaid, and other benefits
    • Knowledgeable and sensitive to domestic violence issues
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills

    Desired Skills:

    • BA Degree with 2+ years of Crisis Counseling experience
    • Experience in Residential Shelter for victims of Domestic Violence
    • Demonstrated skills in Group Counseling
