    Description

    Summary



    This position will be for the 2nd shift tour of duty hours 12:30 pm to 9:00 pm. This position is for an Inpatient Medical Support Assistants (MSAs) assigned to Omaha VAMC Inpatient Wards, are responsible for performing a variety of technical support duties that facilitate the work of physicians, physician assistants, nurses, nursing assistants, and other members of the medical facility who provide direct patient care.

    **PLEASE NOTE: ALTHOUGH THIS ANNOUNCEMENT REMAINS OPEN UNTIL SEPTEMBER 30, 2024, WE WILL BEGIN SCREENING APPLICANTS ON NOVEMBER 3, 2023. WE WILL DO SUBSEQUENT SCREENINGS UP UNTIL THE ANNOUNCEMENT CLOSES AS NEW VACANCIES BECOME AVAILABLE.

    Although not required, preferred experience, concentration, or a candidate's area of interest:

    • Excel at customer service
    • Aptitude to multi-task
    • Complete duties under stressful conditions
    Major duties include (but not limited to):

    - Responsible for the overall coordination of patient admissions, discharges and transfers

    - Duties include appointment scheduling, consult tracking, verification of doctor's orders and treatment orders

    - Enter patient information in VISTA, CPRS, Bed Management, and the electronic gains and losses sheet

    - Receive face-to-face and phone requests and orders with varying degrees of urgency

    - Work effectively under fast pace, rapid response situations, and changing conditions

    - Safeguard patient health information

    - Insure data is properly used and stored

    - Request forms and records

    - General administrative functions of the unit

    - Copy and store necessary forms

    - Maintain office equipment

    Work Schedule: 2nd Shift. Monday-Friday, 12:30 pm to 9:00 pm
