    Duties

    As a Senior Policy Advisor, you will:

    Write papers, briefings, and memos to and for senior policy officials in the department concerning economic disparities and barriers to economic participation and prosperity in the U.S.

    economy that cut across a wide variety of sectors and markets.

    Analyze and assess, using appropriate tools and models, the potential DEIA and economic equity impacts of proposed or existing policy changes or global economic developments.

    In direct collaboration with Senior Treasury officials, develop policy proposals, options and alternatives and recommend Treasury's position with respect to DEIA and economic equity.

    Act as an expert in community finance, capital markets, financial institutions, economic policy and program design and implementation, and policy modeling.

    Qualifications
    You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

    For the GS-15, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service.

    Specialized experience for this position is defined as proven proficiency and supportable (as evidenced in the resume) hands-on experience in ALL of the following:

    • Developing and conducting research on economic inequality in outcomes and opportunities and the impact of government policies and programs on barriers to economic participation; AND
    • Experience with public policies and programs that influence the economic wellbeing of Americans, especially tax and financial policies; AND
    • Using analytical and evaluative methods to assess circumstances and disparities across different segments of the population, especially by race, gender, and geography/places; AND
    • Using verbal and written communication to deliver presentations and briefings to internal and public audiences.

    Time in Grade:

    In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-15, you must have been at the GS-14 level for 52 weeks.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
    A one year probationary period may be required.
    Must successfully complete a background investigation.
    Public Trust - Background Investigation will be required.

    Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.

    This position requires that the successful candidate undergo personnel vetting, which includes a background investigation and enrollment upon onboarding into "Continuous Vetting." Enrollment in Continuous Vetting will result in automated record checks being conducted throughout one's employment with Treasury.

    The successful candidate will also be enrolled into FBI's Rap Back service, which will allow Treasury to receive notification from the FBI of criminal matters (e.g., arrests, charges, convictions) involving enrolled individuals in near real-time.
