    Salary Range: $ $22.52 Hourly

    Summary:

    Under the supervision of the Clinic Operations Manager with support from the Clinic Coordinators, the Telehealth Services Medical Receptionist is responsible for performing clinical, administrative and office support functions.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Responsible for receiving patients and public in a professional and courteous manner.
    • Responsible for scheduling appointments per Medical Department and Behavioral Health Department (BHD) procedure.
    • Responsible for verifying patient demographics at each patient contact via phone, telehealth or in person appointment.
    • Responsible for registering patients and entering patient demographics in the Practice Management System (PM)
    • Responsible for assuring that patient registration, medical history, and consent and privacy forms are thoroughly completed and signed on an annual basis.
    • Responsible for verifying that the telehealth consent is completed during telehealth visit.
    • Responsible for verifying patient insurance and eligibility prior to office visit and communicating effectively with billing staff for financial screening and cashier services. Collaborates with Managed Care Department as needed for insurance enrollment support.
    • Responsible for initiating patient encounters with appropriate pay code for telephonic, telehealth or in-person visit.
    • Responsible for confirming telehealth and BHD patient appointments daily.
    • Responsible for documenting and rescheduling "no-shows" and cancellations per clinic and BHD procedure.
    • Responsible for managing and monitoring patient intake for telehealth appointments via telehealth dashboard.
    • Responsible for providing patient education on telehealth services.
    • Responsible for assisting patients to establish and troubleshooting telehealth connection.
    • Responsible for working in collaboration with the Behavioral Health Team to maximize Behavioral Health providers schedules and patients access to care.
    • Responsible for follow-up with Medical and Behavioral Health provider tasking orders.
    • Responsible for maintaining and updating lists of active participants and gives them initial and/or follow up appointments as needed.
    • Responsible for operating computers programs, like Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel.
    • Responsible for providing cross training support and coverage to Medical Receptionist staff and Behavioral Health team as needed.
    • Responsible for generating and providing weekly and monthly report of BHD caseload, appointments and no shows and other tasks as assigned.
    • Responsible for actively participating in organization- wide continuous Quality Improvement Program.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • One (1) year experience as a medical receptionist
    • Knowledge of trauma, substance abuse, and mental health preferred
    • Strong problem-solving skills and team-oriented behavior.
    • Ability to establish strong rapport and relationships with patients and staff.
    • Commitment to empowerment, strengths based and social justice-oriented principles.
    • Knowledge of medical terminology and assessment skills.
    • Knowledge is insurance plans and eligibility requirements.
    • High school graduate or GED certification.
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
    • Computer experience with excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include Excel and skills in database management and record keeping.
    • The employee is familiar and knowledgeable with the use of a type of health information technology system. The employee will assure to take such steps necessary to allow Arroyo Vista to realize the benefits of the Electronic Health Records system including the adoption, implementation, upgrading and meaningful use of such technology as requested or required by Arroyo Vista or other federal or state authority.
    • Ability to type 35 wpm.
