I am a pre-medical student, who graduated from UCLA in December 2022 with a B.S. in Physiological Sciences. I will be applying to medical school in the 2023-2024 application cycle.

Research Experience

Undergraduate Research Assistant, Kitchen Lab, UCLA Hematology and Oncology (June 2021 – present)

  • Performing molecular cloning techniques to develop chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy against human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)
    • Undergraduate Research Fellowship Program Scholar: Current project involves the use of glycophosphatidylinositol (GPI) anchors to develop a dendritic cell vaccine that can improve the efficacy and memory function of CAR T-cell therapy against HIV infection

 

Undergraduate Research Assistant, Senthil Lab, UCI Surgery (February 2021 – present)

  • Examining novel in vitro models of peritoneal carcinomas and development of liquid biopsies through examining contents secreted cancer exosomes from patient samples to detect peritoneal carcinomas early before significant cancer development.

  • Studied mortality trends of lupus nephritis from 1999-2019 based on race/ethnicity and geographical location using regression and joinpoint analysis
