Apex Systems is looking to hire an
Application Support Engineer
for one of their reputable financial clients.
Locations:
Charlotte, NC; Dallas, TX; Isilen, NJ; Minneapolis, MN; Chandler, AZ
Schedule: 3 days onsite - 2 days remote - HYBRID
Contract length: 12+ MONTH CONTRACT - potential for extension and conversion (contingent on performance)
Rate:
$55-60/hr W2
General Description
This position is a senior level technical role that will lead application support of production systems with a focus on incident management, problem management, change/release, and other ITIL based functions.
The individual will need to lead discussions and collaboration with development and business teams and be able to develop a deep understanding of applications and business functionality.
This role requires the ability to operate independently and help transform and mature the support organization.The position will be working in a corporate environment with large, complex, and critical applications across a wide range of technologies.
Examples include Cloud, large, complex, Tier 1 IIS/.NET/SQL applications, web hosting with multiple server tier levels, and application and server level clustering and load balancing.
Experience with SPLUNK, AppDynamics, and ITRS setup for applications is a strong positive, but not a hard requirement. Ability to automate and reduce toil is a very strong positive.Core tech skills that we use here
SQL / ETL
Cloud – Azure, AKS
Application specific set up alerting and monitoring (ITRS, SPLUNK, App Dynamics or any alerting or monitoring tools).
Incident/Problem management; strong awareness of ITIL
Toil reduction Ability to automate and drive operational improvement
Schedulers – Autosys
Environments – Windows, Linux, Unix
Databases:
Oracle, SQL Server, SQLMI or anything similar.
Vendor platforms – Actimize, FIRCOSOFT.
On-Call Information
Our on-call support model is weeklong
Schedule:
Friday Morning 8:30 AM CST thru Thursday Night 8:30 PM CST.
At a high level, we would expect:
During on-call, be available and acknowledge paging.
Responsible for global handovers
Perform a preliminary diagnosis of the issue and engage partner teams for further assistance as necessary.
If possible lead an active incident or issue triage to be able to represent or assist in resolving the issue.
