    Idaho Power - headquartered in vibrant Boise, Idaho - is looking for a temporary Control Engineer to join our Planning, Engineering and Construction team.

    What does a Control Engineer do for us? A Control Engineer designs electric power system distribution, transmission, generation, instrumentation, protection and controls, communication systems, EMS/SCADA, cable management, and metering systems.


    They also:
    + Plan and lead projects, assignments, and technical investigations + Act as a liaison between other departments and organizations + Evaluate progress and results, recommending changes in procedures + Exercise moderate technical judgment in decision-making and independent action + Are responsible for budgeting, financial accountability, and timelines on assigned projects + Utilize industry and discipline related knowledge to interpret and comply with regulations as required by NERC, FERC, WECC, EPA, NESC, OSHA, FCC, etc.


    • Are responsible for electrical design of station capital projects including the scoping, design, and engineering support of substation controls, instrumentation, local service, and other ancillary tasks, project quality control, and construction support Integrate controls, protective relays, SCADA, communication equipment, and station apparatus into a complete drawing set for issue to Idaho Power internal crews and contractors for construction Engineer I:
