- Accurately processes weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees.
- Ensure that all data, such as hours worked, overtime, bonuses and deductions ore correctly entered into the payroll system.
- Maintain detailed and organized payroll records for all employees, including but not limited to salary changes, tax withholdings and benefits deductions.
- Prepare and submit payroll-related tax reports and filings as required.
- Address payroll-related inquiries from employees, managers and external parties in a timely and professional manner, resolving issues efficiently.
- Oversee timekeeping system and ensure accurate tracking of employee hours and attendance.
- Collaborate with IT and People Operations to maintain and update the payroll software to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
- Conduct regular audits of payroll data to ensure accuracy and reconcile discrepancies promptly.
- Assist in the payroll onboarding processes for new hires and manage payroll tasks related to employee terminations.
- Update Human Resources Information System (HRIS) with employment changes such as job changes, pay rate changes, promotions, terminations, etc.
- Respond to employment verification requests and other state requests as needed.
- Handle year-end payroll processes, including W-2 preparation.
- May assist with mail distribution, answering phones and other clerical tasks as needed.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
- Certified Payroll Professional highly desired.
- High school diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred.
- 5+ years of payroll experience required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to follow up and resolve problems from beginning to end.
- Must be self-directed and able to prioritize work to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Vista Viewpoint experience a plus.
- Previous HRIS experience a plus.
- Strong integrity and work ethic are critical.
- Ability to work on-site with regular, reliable attendance.
