    Job Title: Director of People / HR

    Location: Midtown Manhattan, NYC

    Company Overview:

    We are an established hospitality group in Midtown Manhattan, NYC, renowned for our commitment to excellence in service and guest experience. With multiple properties and a dynamic team, we are seeking a Director of People / HR to lead our human resources initiatives, ensuring the success and well-being of our employees while maintaining compliance with New York State and NYC employment laws.

    Position Overview:

    As the Director of People / HR, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources management within our organization. This includes recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training and development, payroll administration, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in HR management, be SHRM certified, and possess a deep understanding of payroll and HR procedures specific to New York State and NYC.

    Responsibilities:

    Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business objectives

    Oversee the recruitment process, including sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and making hiring decisions

    Manage employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans

    Develop and implement training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge

    Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations

    Manage payroll administration, including processing payroll, ensuring accuracy, and addressing any discrepancies

    Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures, keeping them up-to-date with changing laws and best practices

    Partner with department managers to address staffing needs and develop succession plans

    Oversee benefits administration, including enrollment, changes, and communication with employees

    Conduct regular audits of HR processes and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency

    Provide guidance and support to employees on HR-related matters

    Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in HR management

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field

    SHRM certification preferred

    Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR management, preferably in the hospitality industry

    Deep understanding of New York State and NYC employment laws and regulations

    Proven experience with payroll administration and HRIS systems

    Strong leadership and management skills

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

    Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

    Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS software

    Salary and Benefits:

    Salary range: $130,000 - $150,000 per year

    Hybrid work schedule with a great work-life balance, 5 days a week, Monday to Friday
