    Description

    Shockwave Medical, Inc. is a pioneer in the development and commercialization of Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL) to treat complex calcified cardiovascular disease. Shockwave Medical aims to establish a new standard of care for medical device treatment of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease through its differentiated and proprietary local delivery of sonic pressure waves for the treatment of calcified plaque.

    Position Overview

    Data Platform and Business Intelligence team at Shockwave Medical specializes in helping our users leverage data-driven insights to enhance decision-making processes and drive business growth. As part of our commitment to fostering talent and innovation, we are seeking a passionate and motivated Data Analytics Intern to join our team.
    Essential Job Functions

    The qualified intern should expect to contribute & improve in the following functions:

    • Work closely with Data Platform team to gather, clean, and analyze data from various sources.
    • Assist in the development and maintenance of BI reports and dashboards using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
    • Write SQL queries in Snowflake to extract, manipulate, and transform data for reporting and analysis purposes.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their data requirements and deliver actionable insights.
    • Support the implementation of data quality checks and ensure data integrity across different systems.
    • Stay updated on emerging trends and best practices in BI, SQL, and data analytics.

    Requirements

    • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field.
    • Proficiency in SQL and Python with hands-on experience writing complex queries, and Python programming related to data engineering.
    • Familiarity with Business Intelligence concepts and tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into meaningful insights.
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with team members.
    • Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality work within deadlines.
    • Prior internship or coursework related to data analytics, BI, or SQL is a plus.

    The market range for Shockwave Summer Internships is $ per hour. Actual pay will be determined based on undergraduate class standing.
