    Brief Description:


    The Drilling Project Manager, Technical Services will plan, develop, and execute on a wide variety of projects, across a number of functional areas including Technical Services, Operations, Maintenance, Marketing, and Special Projects.

    This person will work closely with teammates to provide support, collaboration, and strategic vision to support the Company's operations team through Tech Services.

    This role requires a collaborative, goal-oriented and solution-based approach to successfully manage a wide range of assigned responsibilities while meeting time sensitive objectives.

    This role performs under general direction of the Sr Technical Services Manager.

    Detailed Description:

    • Collaborate with regional managers of technical services and other business units, responsible for supporting and implementing the Company's strategic vision as it relates to Tech Services
    • Act as a subject matter expert for all technical aspects of our Rig fleet
    • Lead or assist in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) exercises for equipment related down time, and prepare reports for the Technical Services as needed
    • Develop and implement procedures, policies, and process
    • Develop project budgets, initiate AFE and purchasing processes, forecast, track and report on costs
    • Provide support for Operations to ensure quality and performance in the field
    • Provide support for Rig reactivation projects including budgeting, upgrades, modification, inspection planning, maintenance, and repairs
    • Utilize the Company's technology and software resources to improve maintenance quality and ability to track and forecast repairs on Rigs
    • Work closely with Controls and Automation to grow our internal product offerings and increase serviceability
    • Assist in recruiting and technically qualifying applicants for field service positions to achieve the Company's objective of being more self-sufficient in field support
    • Develop and oversee a training program for field-based technicians to become more competent in supporting rig maintenance, equipment, control systems, and automation applications
    • Use knowledge of drilling rig operations and equipment to develop conclusions and actions
    • Promote a diverse and inclusive work environment where employees of all backgrounds feel included and their contributions are valued

    • Provide feedback to suppliers on changes or variations to ensure accurate implementation on future orders, ensure internal and supplier documentation is updated to capture changes

    Job Requirements:

    • Ability to think strategically and translate concepts into action plans and track results
    • Ability to build engaging relationships at all levels of the organization as well as with customers
    • Ability to manage and confront challenging situations, make difficult decisions and deliver uncomfortable messages with professionalism
    • Ability to motivate individuals and teams by cascading the company vision and purpose and drive alignment through clear and consistent communications across regions and functional groups
    • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously to meet challenging deadlines
    • Ability to make rapid business critical decisions with available information
    • Excellent verbal and written communication in English with employees, customers and third parties at all levels
    • Computer skills to include MS Office Suite and other business systems such as Oracle, Pason and the internal Management System, as well as use of smart phones, laptops and tablets
    • Ability to regularly travel (approximately 30%) as needed to visit work sites and support business units; may occasionally require extended travel to remote locations and/or overnight stay(s) outside normal office area
    • Ability to safely navigate work sites with occasional walking, climbing, standing, stepping, etc., during normal operating conditions (day/night, outdoor hot/cold weather) including proper use of designated personal protective equipment (PPE)

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree and Five (5) years' experience in Technical Services as it relates to equipment repairs, upgrades, and maintenance on drilling rigs
    • Or High School Diploma and Seven (7) years' experience in Technical Services as it relates to equipment repairs, upgrades, and maintenance on drilling rigs
    • Experience in Project Management
    • Eligible to drive Company Vehicle

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience working with, or for, operations as it relates to drilling rigs
    • Five (5) years' experience on a variety of control and power systems
    • Experience managing projects in conjunction with all functional groups to support operations
    Work Environment

    This position requires the person to be able to work in a time sensitive, high visible role and regularly travel as needed to support business units and visit work sites.

    It may also require extended travel to remote locations and/or overnight stay(s) during variable hours.

    Variable work hours include hours worked on the weekend, on holiday s, and hours to travel within and outside of the assigned region.

    The employee must work with an emphasis on planning, multitasking and prioritization to maximize efficiency of the team. Must be able to work closely with others and manage customer interaction in a professional manner.

    Ability to safely navigate work sites with occasional walking, climbing, standing, stepping, etc., during normal operating conditions (day/night, outdoor hot/cold weather) and while utilizing designated personal protective equipment (PPE).
