Quality Assurance Engineer, Games - Seattle, United States - Amazon

    Amazon background
    Description
Amazon Games is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Certification team. You are a passionate advocate for certification standards who has experience shipping video game titles on console and PC. You are a customer-focused, curiosity-driven, detailed, and candid person who effectively identifies and communicates issues.

As a member of the Certification team, you will be responsible for helping support all video game titles under Amazon Games with your expertise in certification, educating and advocating to stakeholders across multiple teams and disciplines.

You will drive improvement and excellence both within and without the Certification team.

You will be the voice of the customer and must be able to navigate ambiguous problem spaces to identify and advocate for addressing the concerns which have the most impact on the customer experience.

Amazon is all in on games.

We believe games will become the number one form of entertainment on Earth and be defined by their ability to deeply engage communities of fans inside and outside of the playing experience.

We believe the evolution that began with arcade communities a quarter at a time and grew to the live streams and eSports of today, will continue to a future in which fans are creators, players are celebrities, and games are a global cultural touchstone that cuts across age, gender and nationality.

Games have the power to connect communities at a massive scale. This role will empower game studios to confidently and continually release high-quality products that delight customers worldwide.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Ensure all video game titles under Amazon Games pass external certification on the first try
    • Educate and advocate for the requirements and benefits of certification in discussions with stakeholders
    • Drive improvement to every aspect of the Certification team's documentation and process, ensuring customers are able to make the most of the Certification team's services
    • Ensure test runs provide desired coverage and reporting information, are executed efficiently, and issues found are reported quickly and efficiently
    • Provide oversight for the operation of the Certification team
    A day in the life

You leverage your experience shipping video game titles and working with console certification to think creatively about how the Certification team can have the most positive impact – you then build an effective plan for achieving those outcomes.

You meet with the Certification team and various stakeholders regularly and ensure the Certification team is helping each title achieve its production timelines with the highest possible quality.

You deeply inspect the in-flight and upcoming work of the Certification team to ensure the team is working on the right things to have the most positive impact.
