**Department**: IT Program Management - 225
**Primary Purpose** :
The Agile Team Leader is responsible for making sure Agile teams live by the values and practices of Agile, and for acting as the process owner for the team, creating a balance with the Product Owner. As an Agile Team Leader, you will do whatever possible to help the team perform at their highest level. This involves removing impediments to progress, facilitating meetings, and working closely with the Product Owner to make sure the product backlog is properly groomed.

**Essential Functions**
1. Guide development teams and product management on the use of Agile practices; act as an agent of change to expand the use of Agile throughout the organization
2. Empower delivery teams to be self-organized; guide team to work toward measurable goals
3. Facilitate Agile activities/ceremonies
4. Facilitate collaborative, cross-functional communication, improving transparency and radiating project information and metrics
5. Assess the Agile maturity of the team and organization; coach the team to higher levels of maturity
6. Remove impediments; understand the difference between internal and organizational impediments and how to manage each effectively
7. Build a trusting/safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on problem solving
8. Support and educate the Product Owner, with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog
9. Provide support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible; lead by example
10. Participate in scaled Agile with the other Agile Team Leaders to coordinate interdependencies and implement best practices
11. Stay current on industry and Agile best practices
12. Other duties as assigned
**Physical and Other Requirements** :
Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
Mobility: The person in this position needs to occasionally move between work sites and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Communicate: Frequently and effectively communicate with others.
PPE: Biohazard laboratory environment that requires use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company policies.
ARUP Policies and Procedures: To conduct self in compliance with all ARUP Policies and Procedures.
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
