    Job Description

    Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, a National Historic Landmark in Miami, Florida, is looking for a School Programs Manager to join their team.

    The selected candidate will play a key role in developing and managing engaging programs for school students and K-12 educators, fostering relationships with educational organizations and administrators. This position falls under the Engagement & Cultural Resources Team within the Community Partnerships, Programs and Interpretation (CPPI) department. The role involves reporting to the department's director and supervising Learning Program Facilitators.

    Essential Functions

    • Update and manage discussion-based and object-based tours and lessons for school students.
    • Facilitate learning engagement for school students and educators through various programs.
    • Manage and nurture ongoing school partnerships, while seeking out new collaborations.
    • Recruit, train, and mentor Learning Program Facilitators.
    • Plan and oversee Vizcaya's Teen Environmental Council program.
    • Assess and report the impact of educational programs.
    • Manage the school programs budget and represent the museum externally through outreach efforts.

    General Responsibilities

    • Contribute to Vizcaya's mission and strategic goals.
    • Assist in revenue generation and seeking funding opportunities.
    • Promote communication, collaboration, and customer service.
    • Participate in internal committees and ensure tasks are completed promptly.
    • Oversee hiring, discipline, and promotion processes for direct reports.
    • Manage budgets and ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures.

    Position Requirements

    • Minimum 5 years of experience working with K-12 students, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
    • Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
    • Strong knowledge of art and museum education theories.
    • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills.
    • Fluency in English and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

    Factors Vizcaya Will Consider

    • Additional relevant experience and language skills.

    Compensation

    The salary for this position ranges from approximately $61,400 to $68,000 based on qualifications.

    Work Environment/Physical Demands

    Primarily office-based work with occasional interaction with various stakeholders.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    Full-time position, Monday-Friday with occasional evening and weekend work.
