    Description

    We are searching for a talented Systems Administrator to join our team and help maintain, upgrade and manage our software, hardware and networks. This would be a full-time direct hire role with a Capital Construction Project Management firm. Must be located in California.

    ABOUT THE COMPANY

    For over 30 years, our client has been an industry leader providing Project Management Solutions on Capital Construction Projects. Focusing on the Utilities, Oil, Gas, Water and other Large Construction Projects, their Project Controls Professionals have worked on some of the largest Capital Construction Projects throughout the US. They are Certified as a Federal Service Disabled, Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and State of California Small Business and Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (SB/DVBE).

    Duties:

    • Daily systems support, operations, data backup, security monitoring for managed hosting customers
    • Deployment of new customer environments
    • Customer-facing tier 2 support of systems and applications
    • On Call 24x7 every other week for emergency problems
    • Occasional After Hours / Weekend Migrations/Installs/Upgrades
    • Occasional support of sales team (for customer questions RE: technical environment/operations)

    Qualifications:

    • Good customer service skills and professional approach
    • Good Troubleshooting skills
    • A self-starter driven to deliver exceptional results
    • Strong background in both Windows Server and Linux/Unix
    • Support experience for desktop environments (Win10)
    • Experience with any java application server software (Tomcat, JBOSS, Weblogic, Websphere, etc)
    • Network admin/support (VPN's, firewalls, switches, routers, VLANs, security)
    • Strong ability to do remote troubleshooting over the phone / via remote desktop
    • Familiarity with Active Directory and LDAP technologies
    • Basic Database configuration (Create/connect to/backup/restore/basic queries, Microsoft SQL, any Oracle experience is a plus)
    • Minor additional travel may be required to aid in supporting client engagement and sales support.

    Additional Skills:

    • Microsoft or *nix Certifications a big plus, Professional Certifications/Applicable Degree
    • Experience with Azure is a big plus
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Sharepoint
    • Any outside consulting or customer-facing experience
    • Any experience working in a mission critical datacenter environment
    • Any experience working in / integrating with Fortune 500 company environments
    • Any experience with project management software
    • Any experience in storage and backup technologies
    • Any experience with VMWare
