    Job Summary:


    The Assistant Controller at Arlo Chicago is responsible for managing the accounting and finance functions for our hotel in Chicago, Illinois.

    This is a full-time, management position in the hotel/hospitality industry.

    The Assistant Controller will work closely with the Director of Finance and the management team to ensure the financial success of the hotel.


    Compensation & Benefits:
    We offer a competitive salary of $67,000 per year, paid biweekly.

    In addition, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for career growth and development.


    Responsibilities:

    • Manage and oversee the daytoday accounting and finance operations of the hotel, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and cash management
    • Prepare and review financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures
    • Collaborate with the Controller to develop and maintain budget plans and financial forecasts
    • Oversee the monthend and yearend closing processes and ensure timely completion of all required tasks
    • Conduct regular audits and internal controls to ensure financial data accuracy and identify any discrepancies or noncompliance issues
    • Train and develop accounting staff, providing guidance and support as needed
    • Review and approve vendor invoices and monitor expenses to ensure they align with budget guidelines
    • Prepare and submit tax returns and other financial filings as required by law
    • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Controller or senior management team

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably in the hospitality industry
    • Prior management or supervisory experience is preferred
    • CPA designation is a plus
    • Extensive knowledge of accounting principles and financial statements
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy while working in a fastpaced environment
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization
    • Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.

    Must have previous Hotel experience.
