    LHH is looking for an Assistant Controller located in the Chicagoland area to join our client's dynamic Finance team.

    The Assistant Controller will support the Controller in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the finance department ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial reporting and analysis.

    The ideal candidate will possess strong team management skills, analytical skills, effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally, and possess a high level of integrity and ethical standards.

    The Assistant Controller will be responsible for the following:

    • Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
    • Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of financial reporting tasks.
    • Develop and maintain annual budgets and forecasts, providing valuable insights to assist in decision-making. Conduct thorough variance analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and provide recommendations for improvement.
    • Help establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Support external audit processes by preparing schedules, gathering documentation, and addressing auditor inquiries.
    • Assist in tax compliance activities, including the preparation of tax returns and provision calculations.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of finance operations.
    • Various Ad-Hoc Projects as requested by the Controller or Senior Leadership
    The Assistant Controller will need to have the following qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.
    • 3 years or more of experience in accounting or finance roles, with exposure to financial reporting, analysis, and internal controls.
    • Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial accounting standards.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial management software; experience with ERP systems preferred.
    • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.

    Depending on the specific client, location, and role, the salary range is estimated to be $95,000 to $115,000 and benefits may include comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage, retirement savings plan with employer match, and opportunities for professional development and advancement within the organization.
