    Description
    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The individual will be responsible for assisting on various Federal, State, and Local tax research and planning projects.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    • Researching Federal, State, and Local tax laws
    • Understanding, analyzing, and reviewing corporate transactions
    • Researching tax implications of various planning scenarios
    • May also include quantitative and clerical work
    • Conduct research and provide documentation in support of company's tax planning initiatives and tax return positions
    • Monitor tax law changes and assist with the implementation of internal restructurings transactions
    • Organize and document restructuring and other planning initiatives including the preparation of PowerPoints slides, work plans or project timelines, project binders, and internal file memos
    EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
    • Enrolled in a MS Taxation, LL.M program, or JD with an interest in tax
    • Tax legal research skills - Bloomberg BNA, CCH AnswerConnect, RIA Checkpoint and Lexis/Nexis
    • Accounting and analysis skills
    • Strong computer skills - including knowledge of Excel and Word
    • Good organizational skills
    • Interested in a tax planning career
    • Nine-month Term-Internship
    • Must be available for part-time internship during the school year in our NY office
    SALARY RANGE:

    The salary range for this position is $22 to $27. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee's/applicant's background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
