The mission of the New York City Police Department is to enhance the quality of life in New York City by working in partnership with the community to enforce the law, preserve peace, protect the people, reduce fear, and maintain order.
The NYPD strives to foster a safe and fair city by incorporating Neighborhood Policing into all facets of Department operations, and solve the problems that create crime and disorder through an interdependent relationship between the people and its police, and by pioneering strategic innovation.
The Contract Administration Section oversees the processing of all procurements for the NYPD to meet the needs of the Department.
(1) Construction related procurements, such as renovations and repairs of NYPD facilities, as well as contracts for scaffolding, and parking lot and sidewalk resurfacing.
(2) Plan management including various contracts for maintaining various building systems and equipment.
(3) A variety of contracts to meet the Department's various Information Technology needs, including software, hardware, maintaining and enhancing carious Department systems, and special projects such as the implementation of a Gunshot Detection System and a Body Camera System.
(4) Various emergency contracts to take care of needs of the Department that come up on an emergency basis, and
(5) Contracts for specialized goods and services such as helicopters, firearms, horses, and bullet proof vests.
The Contract Administration Section is responsible for making sure that all procurements are processed in accordance with the City's Procurement Rules and Procedures.
The Administrative Procurement Analyst will report to the Assistant Deputy Agency Chief Contracting Officer of small purchasing.The analyst will review and process purchase requisitions, procurements, contract documents, checking descriptions and specifications to determine the accuracy and adequacy and consult with agency staff on possible discrepancies.
The analyst will be tasked with processing GSA and OGS intergovernmental procurements.The analyst will also participate in the tabulation and analysis of bids and examining of samples and conduct investigations of bidders and prospective contractors.
