    Director, Sales


    Join Fathom's dynamic team as a Sales Director at our leading Digital Marketing Agency As the driving force behind our secured revenue goals, you will lead overall sales strategy, collaborate closely with marketing colleagues, and coach a team of sales professionals to excel in new business development.

    This role demands a player/coach mentality, requiring you to not only lead the team but actively contribute to winning new business.

    With a focus on exceeding KPI targets, fostering a culture of excellence, and navigating strategic conversations, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the success of both your team and Fathom as a whole.

    responsibilities:

    • Directly lead overall sales strategy, initiatives, resources, and coordination in pursuit of Fathom's secured revenue goals.
    • Directly collaborate with marketing colleagues in coordinating effective prospecting and pursuit strategies that win our next best client.
    • Coach and develop sales professionals in core areas of new business development: understanding Fathom's brand, leading with a consultative and relational approach, understanding Fathom's value, and driving the progression of opportunities through the pipeline.
    • Ensure appropriate team structures, systems, competencies and values are developed that meet and exceed team and company goals.
    • Manage sales tools, resources, and suppliers, including contract negotiation and management.
    • Collaborate effectively with the leadership council team to align sales strategies with overall business goals, ensuring a unified approach to market penetration and revenue growth.
    • Actively participate in strategy development conversations, contributing valuable insights and feedback from the sales perspective. Help shape the Fathom's strategic direction by analyzing market trends, customer feedback, and competitive activities to identify new business opportunities and areas for improvement.


    In this role, you are expected to contribute as a player/coach-both leading the team and leading active sales pursuits that win new business.


    As such you will be expected to:

    • Meet or exceed individual contributor KPI targets, including secured revenue
    • Lead by example and act as a role model for Fathom's culture and core values
    • Act as a sales manager, ready to:
    • Lead, guide, and mentor solutions consultants
    • Create or assist in the development of individual business plans
    • Create and support effective accountability practices
    • Develop sales and activity metrics for others
    • Provide strategic selling advice
    • Handle crucial conversations and address issues

    • 8 or more years as a proven sales producer in complex, high-consideration environments, selling professional services.

    Some individuals are better qualified than others.

    While the absence of the following skills isn't a disqualifier, their presence will certainly make you a more attractive candidate:


    • Bachelor's degree preferred.
    • Experience selling digital marketing services.
    • Familiarity with digital marketing channels (e.g. SEO, PPC, Social Media), marketing technology platforms (e.g. Marketo, Pardot, Marketing Cloud, HubSpot), and the capabilities of each.
    • Industry experience or knowledge in higher education, healthcare, technology/SaaS, or B2B services.
    • Experience in developing strategy for attending sales events and trade shows
    • Familiarity managing communications, activities, pipeline in CRM-related platforms, such as HubSpot and Salesforce.
