    Job Description Summary
    The Associate Director (AD) for Community Engagement and Student Development is responsible for the overall management of student leadership, development, programs and support for University Life Space and Event Management, most notably Penn's student union, Houston Hall.

    Job Description

    The Associate Director (AD) for for Community Engagement and Student Development leads/aides the Coordinator for Community and Student Engagement in the selection, supervision, scheduling, training, and evaluating of the student building supervisor and welcome desk ambassador staffs and provides direction and support to the Operations Coordinator team. This role works closely and collaboratively with University Life colleagues and ensures alignment with divisional priorities and vision around student care, student development, and student leadership. In addition to significant responsibilities providing direction and leadership to University Life Space and Events programming board, welcome desk ambassador and building supervisor teams, the AD will also be responsible for maintaining a dotted-line supervisor relationship to the Penn Student Agencies General Manager and providing additional support and capacity directly to Penn Student Agencies. The role is also part of a team that ensures continuous/consistent professional staff presence during all hours of the operation and as such are required to work a flexible schedule including some evening and weekend hours. In this capacity, the AD determines which staff are to be notified dependent on the situational circumstances, concerns, emergencies, and potential crises.

    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent plus 5-7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required
    • Customer service experience required
    • Previous supervisory experience required
    • Student leadership experience required
    • Student union and student programming experience are preferred

    Budgeted Salary Range:

    $68,000 to $73,000, commensurate with education and experience
