    ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIESJuul seeks a dynamic engineer to support our internal Test Infrastructure and Sustaining Engineering activities.

    In this hands-on, cross-functional role, the candidate will be responsible for developing the next-generation of hardware and software testing infrastructure that will enable Juul Labs to bring our hardware products to the next level.

    This role will work to build, test, and validate hardware and software tools.

    This role will work with cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure that project requirements are met to achieve optimal experiences for our customers.

    In addition, they will troubleshoot and make improvements to existing test instrumentation products, and work closely with other members of the engineering staff to tackle design and automation challenges.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Designing and building custom test systems to support hardware, software and firmware testing


    Examples include:


    Systems to automate hardware-in-the-loop testing of firmware and software buildsSystems for facilitating automated production testing of hardware in factoriesSystems for automated data collection, analysis, and visualization for system validation and characterizationInternal research toolsBuilding custom tools to enable greater efficiency during new JUUL product developmentTroubleshooting and bringing up custom test-fixtures developed internally and by our contract manufacturing partnersDesigning, building, and verifying PCBAs, schematics, BOMs, and PCB layouts for new and existing tools and fixturesDeveloping best-practices for creating, executing and managing tests on JUUL products.

    Developing custom drivers for hardware supportDeveloping, implementing, and debugging tests spanning multiple layers of our IoT stack (embedded Linux, mobile, cloud services) is a plusMaintaining hardware-in-the-loop automated testing infrastructure for embedded, connected devices (firmware, mobile, cloud services)Creating and monitoring bugs using our issue tracking systemPERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONSMinimum of 4 years of relevant experienceUnderstanding of serial communication protocols I2C, SPI, UARTExperience with microcontrollers and embedded HWExperience with sensors or other ICs communicating over SPI and/or I2CSchematic capture and PCB layout expertise, preferably with Altium DesignerExcellent software development skills and coding standardsExcellent understanding of continuous integration practices and principlesExcellent critical thinking, analytical problem solving and communication skillsExperience with Bash, Git, Python, and at least one other programming languagePreferred experience with AWS and/or GCP specifically related to cloud storagePreferred passionate for data analysis and visualizationEDUCATIONBS or higher in Electrical Engineering, or related technical fieldJUUL LABS PERKS & BENEFITSA place to grow your career.

    SALARY RANGES:


    Salary varies by role, level and location, and is dependent on the cost of labor in a givengeographic region among other factors.

    These ranges may be modified at any time.


    SALARY RANGE:
    $121,000-$167,000 USD
