- Carry out a range of activities in a large research project devoted to advancing the care of patients with thoracic disease. Job duties include talking with patients and administering questionnaires.
- Coordinate periodic meetings, presentations and programs Perform administrative support to prepare announcements and reminders, PowerPoint slides, purchase orders and provide other related assistance.Attend meetings as needed, taking and distributing minutes, obtaining, collating and communicating feedback.
- Provide administrative and research support to the laboratory and research staff. Prepare various types of correspondence, presentations, charts and other materials.Coordinate staff and other meetings; maintain lab meeting, deadline and other calendars; take and disseminate meeting minutes.In collaboration with lab and grants management staff, monitor supply expenditures and resolve any discrepancies.Partner with lab personnel to help ensure the flow of information between staff, offices and collaborators; facilitate lab access for staff and visitors.
- Complete general activities to support own work, the operations of the lab and the division. Utilize computer software (Microsoft Office) and meeting facilitation tools (such as Zoom), training others as needed.Maintain records and files.Collaborate with the division team for general support to and projects within the office.Provide cross-coverage to other administrative personnel.Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of administrative experience required with some experience within a research environment helpful.
- Exposure to and some understanding of clinical administration/operation helpful.
- Understanding and skill in office administration, to include routine business practices, meeting and event coordination and calendar management.
- Able to build and maintain effective working relationships with personnel internal and external to the division, including hospital departments, vendors and research sponsors.
- Able to work independently as well as on a team with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and efficiency; able to follow instructions and see tasks through to completion.
- Computer skills required including Microsoft Office, online searches and social media and meeting applications such as Zoom.
- Mathematical skills, such as for the inventory and ordering of supplies and processing of reimbursements. EEO Statement
