Mariana Carneiro

I am a curious and driven individual who is passionate about exploring new cultures, learning new languages, and gaining insights from my travels. With a love of writing and a hunger for knowledge, I am eager to apply my skills and interests in a meaningful way as an intern. 

Throughout my professional journey, I have gained valuable experience in various fields. As a Mentor/Teacher for a year and two months at BRADUCA, a Brazilian NGO, I successfully taught English Level A to more than 20 low-income Brazilian students, and also assisted in the creation of classes for other English level courses. In addition, I worked closely with other staff members to organize projects and events. During my two-month internship at Petratex - Confecções, S.A. in Portugal, I interned in the Design and Financial departments, where I helped with financial sheets and design projects. I also actively engaged in the basics of pattern creation and other processes of clothing production, and attended meetings with international clients where I assisted with language translation.

For a year, I worked as a Digital Marketing Creator for a mental health start-up called WELPU. As part of my role, I managed all social media accounts, created and designed social media posts, and provided outstanding customer service by answering customer inquiries in a thoughtful and professional manner through social media and email.

Furthermore, I was also Co-founder and Leader of a Service Project at an Elderly Home, where I elaborated cognitive thinking exercises to purposefully stimulate the elderly’s mental activity. Additionally, I created and implemented cognitive thinking exercises to purposefully stimulate the mental activity of the elderly residents, while also organizing engaging events both inside and outside the establishment. Through this experience, I gained valuable skills in project management, communication, and leadership, as well as an understanding of the importance of balancing financial resources to successfully execute events.

My academic achievements have been an essential part of my professional development. I graduated from the American School of Campinas in Brazil, where I received the International Baccalaureate Diploma, American Program Diploma, Brazilian Program Diploma, and the President's Award for Educational Achievement (Silver Seal). These achievements reflect my dedication and commitment to my education and my ability to excel academically. Furthermore, I am a native Portuguese speaker and fluent in English and Spanish.

As a rising sophomore and a candidate of the class of 2026, I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Business Administration with a Minor in Global Fashion Studies at Northeastern University's D'Amore-McKim School of Business. My goal is to gain a multifaceted understanding of the business industry by exploring various perspectives and expanding my knowledge of different fields within business. Although I am yet to declare my concentration, I am inclined towards pursuing a path in Management Information Systems (MIS) or Business Analytics, with a focus on data analytics. This is particularly interesting to me as I am keen on pursuing a career in consulting and believe that data analytics is becoming increasingly important for businesses and an essential part of consulting services.
