    A&K Railroad Materials Inc. is a leading supplier of new and used railroad track materials. A&K has sales offices and a network of storage and distribution facilities strategically located throughout the United States. Together, these offices and inventory locations maintain an extensive and comprehensive inventory of track materials across the nation. Our mission is to provide innovative solutions to promote lasting railway infrastructure.

    Job Overview:

    We are seeking an organized and proactive Operations Assistant to join our team at A&K Railroad Materials Inc. The Operations Assistant will play a key role in supporting day-to-day operations and project management activities. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong administrative skills and the ability to multitask effectively.

    Requirements:

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Administrative Support:
    • Assist with various administrative tasks, including filing, data entry, and document preparation.
    • Manage correspondence, including emails, phone calls, and mail.
    • Maintain organized records and databases.
    • Project Management Assistance:
    • Provide support to project managers in planning, organizing, and executing projects.
    • Assist with project scheduling, resource allocation, and tracking project progress.
    • Coordinate with team members and external stakeholders to ensure project deadlines are met.
    • Communication and Coordination:
    • Serve as a point of contact for internal teams and external partners, relaying messages and facilitating communication.
    • Coordinate meetings, conference calls, and appointments as needed.
    • Assist in preparing presentations, reports, and other project-related documents.
    • Operational Support:
    • Assist in maintaining inventory records and managing supply orders.
    • Coordinate logistics for transportation and delivery of materials.
    • Support operational staff in resolving day-to-day issues and challenges.

    Qualifications:

    • Previous experience in administrative support or operations assistance role preferred.
    • Strong organizational, organizational, and multitasking skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
    • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work.
    • Knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation industry practices a plus
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
