    The Wellness Center Director is a high-level position with multi-faceted financial, personnel, and operational responsibilities. The HPH Wellness Center Director is a seasoned leader, interested in promoting the health & well-being of HPH's employees, patients & community members. This position is directly accountable for the daily operations, supervision, and financial success of HPH's wellness center, utilizing traditional health club services enhanced by wellness and medical models.

    Primary Duties:

  • Leading all wellness center operations, including pre-opening, set up, grand opening, and ongoing service excellence by treating all members, patients, and fellow associates with genuine respect and care.
  • Being highly visible and an effective communicator to serve as a HPH wellness ambassador to members, patients, and the surrounding communities.
  • Developing and executing business plan by monitoring club financials and tracking departmental financial results to ensure budget adherence and intended profitability.
  • Increasing revenue through assertive membership growth, strong club utilization, and outstanding member retention.
  • Developing, implementing, and evaluating ongoing marketing plan to produce membership sales.
  • Establishing systems to actively solicit member feedback regarding facilities, programs, and staffing.
  • Identifying financial needs and assists in preparing capital expense and future operating budgets for the Center.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective cost control measures by monitoring daily work flow for efficient and effective operations.
  • Providing visionary leadership and acting as a positive role model, responsible for all Center employees.
  • Recruiting, retaining, and developing dedicated direct report management team.
  • Overseeing and improving club operations by managing associate performance and creating a culture that inspires employees to excel.
  • Participating in the development and evaluation of ideas to ensure Center programs are safe, fun, social, and aligned with HPH's goals.
  • Developing, promoting, and implementing medically integrated programs to assist the clinical areas of the hospitals in enhancing patient health outcomes and their well-being.
  • Networking with physicians and key hospital administrators to effectively integrate fitness/wellness/recreational programs with the medical community.
  • Participating in hospital meetings, events, and committee activities, as requested.
  • Participating and assuring participation from management team in community activities, volunteer work, and special events for HPH charities.
  • Maintaining all appropriate records and developing consistent reporting on the Center's KPIs.
  • Ensuring all Center employees maintain CPR and First Aid Certification, as well as are aware of all HPH emergency procedures.
  • Ensuring compliance with local, state and federal health and safety standards; timely renewal of permits and licenses necessary for facility operation; and compliance with insurance carrier safety regulations.

    • Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a successful General Manager/Director of at least a 40,000 sq. ft. health club and/or wellness center.
  • Minimum bachelor's degree, master's degree preferred.
  • Possess an academic understanding of health and wellness, as well as a comprehensive understanding of business financials and operations.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possess exceptional listening and customer service skills; social, outgoing, friendly.
  • Is a competent decision-maker utilizing an innovative approach to problem resolution.
  • Has the ability to prioritize numerous assignments and respond to changes in a fast-paced environment by changing priorities with wide, varied tasks.
  • Onsite "lead by example" leader in professionalism, behavior, dress, demeanor, dedication, attention to member service and employee care.
  • Ability to remain calm on occasions when several unpredictable situations occur simultaneously and act in an appropriate manner.
  • Ability to work -- on feet majority of work day
  • Is passionate about fitness, health, sport, wellness, and/or athletics.
  • Previous sales and/or marketing experience.
  • Previous medical integration experience in a clinical setting.
  • CPR certification and First Aid certified.
