    About the Department

    The Chicago Center of HIV Elimination, embedded within the University of Chicago's main campus in Hyde Park, is located in Chicago's HIV epicenter. Of the 20 neighborhoods in the city with high annual HIV diagnosis rates (greater than 40 per 100,000), 13 of them are no more than eight miles from the University of Chicago. This area includes 4 of the 6 communities with the highest annual diagnosis rates in the city (Washington Park, West Englewood, Greater Grand Crossing and South Shore). Our position within the hardest hit neighborhoods in Chicago provides unique opportunities to advance HIV testing and prevention interventions locally, providing tangible results to those most affected and to improve the lives of those living with and without HIV infection. CCHE seeks to eliminate new HIV transmission events over the next 30 years (from 2011 to 2041) by using network science to target and integrate prevention as well as create structural and community-specific interventions.

    Job Summary

    The Director of Patient Centered Health Home will support the development and oversite of HIV prevention and care services provided by CCHE, and the Sections of Infectious Diseases and Pediatric Infectious Diseases. Ensures compliance of the Ryan White Program with institutional, state, and federal regulatory policies, procedures, directives and mandates. This role will submit monthly and quarterly program reports to funders and tracks scopes of service and oversee all quality improvement efforts across the PCHH. Encourage and support research and service integration, with a focus on service based research programs. The director will identify and obtain additional funding to support HIV prevention and care efforts across the HIV programs at the University. The director will oversee all service leadership roles within CCHE. This position will work closely with the Director of CCHE, Director of HIV Clinical Engagement, and Pediatric Infectious Disease leadership to expand services offered by the Patient Centered Health Home.

    Responsibilities

    • The Center Director of Patient Centered Health Home holds a leadership role in developing the service and clinical agenda for the Center.
    • Oversees the Service teams.
    • Responsible for the day-to-day management and operations and will serve as a liaison to administrative units of the University and with external partners.
    • Serves as a highly motivated Director and relationship builder with experience working in either an academic and/or a nonprofit research/policy center environment.
    • Oversees staff recruitment and retention, budgeting, strategic planning and implementation.
    • Oversees service grants submitted to governmental and non-governmental agencies.
    • Collaborates with faculty, students, and other leaders across campus and within HIV, STI, justice involved Populations and substance use to foster multi-disciplinary research and programming within the Center.
    • Lead and/or participate in teams or small working groups to conceptualize research topics, perform systematic reviews of evidence, and facilitate the prioritization of research questions.
    • Develops print and electronic materials (e.g., presentations, report, fact sheets).
    • Works closely with the development office, leads fundraising efforts for the Center, and supports broader fundraising efforts.
    • Works closely with the Director of Research to administrate research projects and assist faculty with budgets, projections and allocation of recharge resources to appropriate staff.
    • Working with other staff, the Center Director of HIV Clinical Engagement represent the Center and its work as appropriate and stays abreast of policy and program developments in sexual and reproductive health.
    • Provides expertise to researchers on compliance of research activities with institutional, state, and federal regulatory policies, procedures, directives and mandates.
    • Provides expertise to researchers and research support staff. Oversees activities related to data collection and analysis.
    • Performs other related work as needed.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Education:

    Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

    Education:

    • Advanced degree in social work or related field.

    Experience:

    • Experience providing support to individuals living with HIV.
    • Previous program/ project management experience.
    • Experience working on an interdisciplinary team; 10 year of experience with data management.
    • Experience in research management, program management and strategic planning.
    • Experience in presenting to academic and community organizations.
